Magdalena Zegelman

Neu Isenburg, Germany | 1923 - 2008

Magdalena Zegelman was a beloved mother of one son and an appreciated grandmum of three grandchildren who have been 25, 22 and 12 when she died. She was born in Eastern Germany but came to Frankfurt before the wall was built. Here she met her husband Wolf who was jewish and just was released from KZ. He had a little shop and as she applied for a position there they got to know each other.

Magdalena outlasted her husband for 19 years. She was weak and ill in the end and cared for by a nurse. She died in her own bed following an accident in the bathroom.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, Jan 15th 2008 on the cemetery in Praunheim, Frankfurt, Germany, where her only son Max lives.

She will be missed dearly.
