Antony ZANI

Died in 2008

ZANI It is with unbearable sadness that we announce the sudden death of Antony (BJ) Zani, aged 27 years, on Friday, July 4, 2008, as a result of a helicopter crash in California USA, tragically he was only allowed to be the devoted husband to Jane (nee Sarginson) for a year, the only son of his heartbroken parents Bruno and Sue, an irreplaceable brother to Cinzia and the only grandson of his proud grandparents Edith and the late JD Gill, and much loved Nephew of Donald and Rorie. He leaves behind his whole family and friends, here, in Italy and USA, devastated by this most cruel twist of fate. Funeral arrangements to be advised to family and friends pending coroner's inquest in USA. We ask no cards or flowers, just please take 2 minutes to remember this wonderful, funny, irreplaceable young man, who will be in our hearts forever and has been so cruelly taken from us. Life will never be the same without him.

Your Memories

I'm a Brit who has lived in California for the past 14 years. I met Antony when he gave me my checkride for my first solo in N2011A. I immediately warmed to his disarming personality, his natural teaching ability, and his keen sense of humor. He struck me as a person who loved life, who loved his occuption, and, through overhearing a phone call, clearly loved his wife. He was also one of the most safety aware instructors I've met. I was shocked and devastated to hear of his fatal accident on July 5th. I extend my sympathies to his wife, and family at this terrible time. I will miss him.
