Victim of North Sea helicopter crash in which 16 people died
Oil rig worker Stuart Wood, 27, from Newmacher, near Aberdeen, died in a helicopter crash in the North Sea on 1 April, 2009.
He worked for the well management firm Expro and played football for his local amateur side.
John Matthews, the manager of Newmacher United FC, said: "Stuart was a really well-liked lad in the village and I've know his family since I was a boy. He was also a great player."
Angie Still, a family friend, said: "Stuart was a lovely guy. He was just full of fun - a typical young lad."
Expro chief executive officer Graeme Coutts said: "Everyone at Expro is deeply saddened by this tragic event and the loss of Stuart, who was a well-liked member of our team who had a promising career ahead of him."
