16.09.2008 : John Church wrote I knew Roger for over 35 years as both a professional contact and socially. He was one of those persons who seemed "always to be the same".

Professionally, he was very supportive and never afraid to seek other opinions, if he thought it would help a client. Socially, he was there one minute, often gone the next, frequently rushing off to attend to family matters. A real gentleman, he will be very much missed. We enjoyed knowing him.
16.09.2008 : Laura Buzzard wrote It was June 2006 when RW interviewed me to be his secretary. I will always remember my interview as it only consisted of the questions "can you type" and "do you want the job!!". After a couple of days we got on so well we used to chat for ages about life and as he had been going through some difficult times I tried my hardest to ease the pressure and make life easier for him. It was like I had known him years! He was not like any other solicitor, he told me how much he appreciated my help and hard work and made it known to everyone what he thought of me which I found really touching. I was the only one who could get away with nagging at him over work as he valued my opinion although often said "I have a wife at home, I don't need another nagging wife at work" which used to make me chuckle! I left work in May to have my baby but popped in on his birthday to take him a card and as always he was pleased to see me. I will never forget RW he was a star!

Have known Roger for 30yrs, socially and professionally.
Roger on the return from Ann & Rogers holiday with Jane,
took the time to ring me up to see how our family were,
this was Roger, putting others first .
Roger was always glad to help if he could,
as we did over the years.

weather mr.wilson was advising me on buying a building or attending with me at court i felt totally safe in his hands,always knowing that he had my very best interests at heart.
on one occassion,the other side's solicitor was not dressed appriate for court. he made me laugh when he said 'next time my dear i will wear a mini skirt! '

i think i will always have a picture of him in my mind of talking into a dictiphone that belonged on the ark, and the feeling as you sat there was that he would take care of the matter with no fuss.

he will be sadly missed by many people, my deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
