Officer who died in the line of duty.

Killed in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to report for duty at Colchester when his motorcycle was in collision with a car near East Bergholt, Suffolk. Bob had 26 years service having been in the Metropolitan Police before joining Essex in 1989; he worked in Colchester as the Town Sergeant and had been commended 3 times for his work. He is survived by his two sons aged 20 and 15 years, his fiancee and her four children with whom he lived in Suffolk, his mother and brother.
