THOMPSON George Edward (Eddie) Following a two year battle with Motor Neurone Disease, fought with great courage to the end, Eddie passed away at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital on 20th June 2009 aged 46 years, surrounded by his wife and family members. Eddie was a devoted husband, a loving father, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law and a very good friend to many who will be greatly missed. The funeral service will be held at St Aidan's Church, Cleethorpes on Thursday 2nd July 2009 at 10.00am, followed by an interment at Cleethorpes Cemetery. No mourning dress. By request, immediate family flowers only, but a donation in lieu, if so desired, for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, may be sent c/o Mrs S Blow, 47 Pagehall Close, Scartho, Grimsby, DN33 2HF. Eddie is now resting peacefully with Co-operative Funeralcare, 423 Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, tel no: 01472 200001.

Eddie, what a fighter to the end. You tackled this illness from the start to the finish with such courage - even though at times you were silently suffering.
Always the protector - what a loss.
All the jokes, all the laughs - won't be the same. We will keep our promise to the end to look out for Emma , Ellis, Jordi & Dec.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a man we admired and loved.
Fairwell not goodbye as i know for sure we will meet again.
