04.07.2008 : Ruth Finney wrote I am deeply saddened by the loss of Elizabeth Spriggs. She was a fine actrss and a lovely person. I went to school with her daughter Wendy and remember well going to Wendys birthday party when we were about 14. Every time that I saw Elizabeth on the television I would tell my family that I had known this lady and had even been to her flat. My children have always doubted my story and had a laugh about it, until Wendy was on a t.v. program and mentioned the school she had attended. My sympathies to you now Wendy, I have lost both of my parents and know the loss you must be feeling. Ruth Finney nee Butlin

17.07.2008 : Wendy Spriggs wrote I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has remembered Elizabeth so fondly, she would have been not only proud but deeply touched that so many people enjoyed her work. I am the luckiest of everyone because she was my Mother, so my memories are to vast to share, but needless to say she will never be far from any of us not while there are videos, DVDs or any other forms of record of her wonderful work. Once again I thank you all, it has helped me through this sad time. Best wishes Wendy Spriggs.

30.07.2008 : chris sharley wrote I met Elizabeth only a few times, as her husband was a musician and he brought her along to hear my band play at The Oak in Ashton Clinton amongst other places. She was a lovely, gentle lady and I was very saddened to hear of her passing.

Kind regards and to all her family in your time of loss.

01.08.2008 : Jean Simpson wrote I have always enjoyed watching Elizabeth at work, and have admired her perfomances in many films and television series. Her work will indeed continue to entertain and enthrall for future generations.

01.08.2008 : Lisa Smith wrote What a truly lovely actress. I will always remember her fondly. I grew up watching Shine on Harvey Moon in particular, and really loved all the other programmes she appeared in. I always thought she had such a rich, comforting and identifiable voice. You know, very Mumsy! I feel very sad and that she is no longer with us. Would loved to have met her.

02.08.2008 : Adela Stephenson wrote As someone who had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth several years ago, I have never forgotten what a kind and generous Lady she was, so very interested and concerned about people in general. Our working day would always start with her asking how myself and family were, and sadly I did not manage to fulfil my ambition to work with her again.
I will think of Elizabeth particularly at this time of year as we both shared a love of the garden,
'I will pick the flowers and think of you often Elizabeth'
and will keep these fond memories in my heart forever.

I send my love to Murray an Wendy,
Adela

04.08.2008 : Peter Stewart Cook wrote In the late 60's and early 70's we would meet up in The Bell Inn at Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon for a chat. Liz was a happy, outward-looking person, always ready for a challenge. An 'ordinary' person with an extraordinary acting talent, happy days, great memories! Love, Peter

10.08.2008 : Stuart Fox wrote Whenever I saw Ms Spriggs on TV or film I realised that I was in for an exceptional'treat'
Great actress.
Remember years ago when I was styling a flat in Palace Court, London, that she had the flat next door.

Always eccentric, remember an electricity extension lead from her flat to the outside plug!!

Remarkable lady!!
