25.09.2008 : Lasting Tribute wrote I last saw Jimmy some 18 months ago in the Rushcliffe car park before a Forest match.

Always a cheery smile and a wave. A man who could draw fans together from all sides.

Another true Nottingham Legend.

Rest in Peace

25.09.2008 : Mick Johnson wrote What a great manager and man. Those days down the lane were fantastic and I thank Jimmy for the memories.

He represented an era when football was the be all and end all of our lives. 50p to get in at Meadow Lane. 5 pints before and 5 pints after, meat pie, A fag in the Meadow Club - and that was just Stubbsy!

Thanks Jim for everything and I've got a feeling that Charlie might do something similar.

Lets rename London Road Jimmy Sirrel Way!!

Jimmy I hope you Rest In Peace because you've earned it .

Will never forget you Jimmy and thanks for making me a Magpie.

29.09.2008 : carole stapleton wrote Since hearing the news last week, I've heard the word legend repeated and repeated. In today's world of football it is a word that can be overused, but not in this case. Jimmy Sirrelll was a legend, he achieved something that is unlikely to be achieved ever again and that's as it should be.

He was a lovely man, who always made time for the fans, right up to the end. A big chunk of my football life disappeard last thursday and I am bereft.

It's as if we have alll lost someone we were related to , the great man made you feel like that, we shall not see his like again.

God Bless you Jimmy, be at peace and free from pain, be with you beloved Cathy and next time you're advising God on football, remind him about us.

Thank for bringing some sunshine to Meadow Lane, your spirit will live on at the Lane
