The post horn gallop will never be the same

RIP Henry

04.07.2009 : Andy Stanley wrote Henry - I do not think you will remember me but you would certainly know my name- Andy Stanley. My father played with you in several of Brass Bands and also you probably played in the same bands as my Grandfather also named Andy Stanley.
My father always spoke very fondly of you and your dedication. He frequently talked about you playing the post horn gallop at Filbert Street after the war. I am a keen City fan and it was a joy to see you play in more recent years. Our paths crossed when my kids played with Loughbough Band under Bud Fisher and your involvement with them
A very sad goodbye to a great man.

06.07.2009 : Pat Allsopp wrote Henry,
As a youngster, I remember your guiding hand as I timidly sat on the back row of the Ancient Order of Foresters Band (Leicester), for the first time.
You clearly didn't put me off playing - I'm still enjoying banding as much now as I did then!
A sad loss to all who knew you.
