SHANKS - DORIS A phone call from Anne to Heaven. "Hello Mam, its me just ringing to let you know how things are. I saw Michelle today, she is lost Mam, she feels like she has not only lost her mum but her best friend and our Tina is hiding behind a beautiful smile but you can see in her eyes she is hurting. Tommy is still telling those stupid jokes to cover up the way he is feeling but he's hurting too Mam. Our Jackie tried everything to get to you but at least her pain will be eased by the phone call you shared and as for me, I'm running because I'm scared to stop incase somebody says I cant hold you anymore but that's not true because I'm holding you in my heart forever. As for the grandkids, I was so proud of them, I sat in the hospital and thought how beautiful these kids are. Not only in looks but in their hearts. Oh by the way, I rang Dad on Thursday to tell him you were coming, he said he already knows and he will wait at the gates for you. When you get there can you thank God for giving us those extra hours because some people don't even get that time. I'm going now Mam. Goodnight, I love you , I will ring you tomorrow." Anne xx
