I didn't know Jim but my heart goes out to his family and friends.
14.08.2008 : Ian Newman wrote I had the honour of serving with Jim in the Falkland Islands. He was a great communicator and a very friendly man who would always take the time to talk. One thing that has stuck in my mind was how keen he was to get out of the South Atlantic theatre and serve in Afghanistan. I think he saw his role at the time as a soft-slipper; Jim was definitely a man who would have rather been in the action. It shook all of us when the Theatre Commander himself told us of the news. I barely knew Jim really; in some ways whoever really knows any of us in that line of work - in other ways we are all best friends. Rest in peace. Request removal
