Your Memories

I have only known Bev since August 2007, but I would like to share this little poem in his memory.



This little verse I have to write,
For a very nice man, who has lost his fight.
He carried on fighting right to the end,
I didn’t know him long, but he became my friend.
He came every Tuesday morning and made us a brew,
That was the one thing he really loved to do.
He would bring us eggs, pastries and fruit,
Then tell us his stories about the birds he would shoot.
He’d sit in the chair, chatting to Wendy and me,
Telling us what he’d watched on the DVD.
Everyone knew he was a loveable man,
And Wendy was the one who was his number 1 fan.
So now dear Bev has fallen to sleep,
I shall cherish my memories I have to keep.
He’s in a better place now with no more pain,
But I feel so sad because I won’t be seeing him again.
