23.07.2008 : Phillip Poole wrote Tony, you were a good soldier, a good copper but most of all an exceptional friend. It was a pleasure to serve with you in Cyprus and the memories of that tour will never leave me. My deepest condolences go out to all your family and my thoughts are with them at this tragic time, rest in peace mate, a sad farewell, Phillip

24.07.2008 : Jim Bagnall wrote I became friends with Tony after he left the Army I got to know him because his wife and my Ex had also been in the Army together. We became firm friends both serving in SYP, first at separate stations later in the same specialist role. Well Tony many people would probably say you were right, but I'm glad you changed your mind and we sank far TOO many red wines together over the years. Never did apologise to your brother serving on a peace keeping mission and waking him up a few hours before going on a mission just so we could order cheap 'leatherman' knives for our utility belts. Whilst playing light sabres with burning sticks in your back lawn.
Take care mate, I will miss you and all those great non PC text messages you sent me out here in New Zealand, keep safe.
Jim (NZ)

08.12.2009 : rebecca vaughan wrote I knew Tony briefly through one his brothers. He was a lovely man who I know his brother greatly admired. I was sad to hear of this story and shows what a vunerable position police officers hold. I wish all the best to his family x
