Walter Mudford was a Royal Navy Bombardier who served on
H.M.S. "Good Hope." He died on Sunday, 1st November 1914, age 31 in the Battle of Coronel off the coast of Chile.
He was the second son of Harry and Lucy Mudford, of Leicester, born on 21st May 1883. In 1909, when he was 26 years old, he married Ada Lycett on 2nd August at St. Stephen's church in Leicester, and they lived at 53 Green Lane Road.
