03.07.2009 : GORDON ANDERSON wrote I have a lot of memories about Nige Morton - not only from my time with him on 111 Sqn but from the countless hours we spent together on Golf Courses all around the world whilst out on various dets.I recall many happy hours Golfing with Nige both home and abroad with one lasting memory of our time spent at San Roque in Spain when we were fogged in at Gibraltar - from the moment Spoory and Nige did a runner from the Breakfast buffet, to enjoying the round with Ben and Nige and joining on in the afternoon round with the campest art dealer in the world. But th best memory was Nige tonking a drive on the back nine onto the front edge of a 400 yard par 4 and 5 putting the green.Nige loved his cars, his gadgets and most importantly his family and I am going to miss him.I have attached a picture I took of him when we were on a great det to Hungary.Gordon A Request removal

06.07.2009 : craig fraser wrote I was very lucky to play golf with Nige last week. We played on a lovely hot day in St Andrews on the Castle cse. Normally Nige and I would be neck and neck but on Wed he whipped my derriere! The game was all over by the ninth, as he was level par and playing the best golf I have ever seen him play. If only we were to know that would be his last putt.Another fitting memory, was playing with our mutual golf pro friend in Perth on Thurs. As we finished out on the 18th, Nige and Kenny flew overhead (again on a stunning day). Again it was to be their last......Rest and be Thankful,Never to be forgotten,Craig Fraser Request removal

07.07.2009 : Gill Howie wrote We were invited and met at 43(F) Squadron today and was in tears before I even arrived - I left, still in tears, but Immensely PROUD to be friends with such a squadron. Even more so am enormously honoured to have known 'Nige' who so tragically lost his life doing what he loves. Equally the people that they have left behind be it current or past members of in this fine Squadron - downstairs with the engineers and ground crew to upstairs with the 'T-bar lady' and 'The Boss' - they are truly amazing people - ALL of them - Gloria Finis. In all the years we've known him he never had a mean word to say about anyone, he was just so boundlessly enthusiastic about life. Completely defined by his love of Romana and Rohan, flying and of course golf.A true genlteman and an utterly tragic loss. Goodbye My Dear, we'll never forget you.Much love x Request removal

08.07.2009 : Alasdair Busby wrote I was deeply saddened when I heard that Nige was 1 of the guys killed in last week's Tornado crash. One of life's Good Guys he was always dynamic, smiley, bright and genuinely enthusiastic - just a real pleasure to spend time with. We played in the RAF Leuchars golf team a few times, usually against the R & A, and enjoyed some great fun times. My thoughts are with Romana and his wider Family at this incredibly sad time.Alasdair Busby, Ex-RAF. Request removal

Nige will be dearly missed in the world of aviation and on the fairways. Best way i feel you can think of nige is " he was just such a good guy"My thoughts are with Romana and Rohan and the rest of the family, always remembered and never forgotten!( thanks for the golf, guiness, flybys and countless conversations and laughs ) Request removal

17.07.2009 : Pete Brombley wrote I didn't fly much with Nige and feel I knew him much better as a fellow aviator on station, sitting on QRA and at all those social functions. Carol will always remember his cheery greetings as Wendy describes above. My strongest memory is from around 96 when Nige and I were sent on a survival course from Coningsby. I was paired with Nige on the 3 days of trudging across the moors, at night, in miserable conditions. Nige was upbeat throughout and kept me going when I struggled and without a word of complaint. I guess he was just imagining he was strolling around the golf course but to me he was a pillar of strength. Thanks Nige.A true gent who will be sadly missed by us all. Request removal

21.07.2009 : Fraz Cunningham wrote I knew Nige from his time on 111(F) Sqn from 2003. As one of the Rects Controllers on Tremblers I get to meet and greet all the crews on their return from the day's sorties; some happy, some crabbit and some stressed. Nige always, but always, came through the door with a smile on his face and cheery greeting regardless of the outcome of the mission. Nige was so au-fait with the avionics suite that he could have been mistaken for a "Fairy" - a geek's geek. He knew most of the lads by their first names and always stopped to say hello and ask how things were going. I was also lucky enough to play golf with Nige and always enjoyed his company out there on the Links. I even had the "pleasure" of facing some of his bowling during a aircrew/ groundcrew cricket match in Cyprus, it was all I could do to save my dignity, never mind guard the stumps!Nige was one of nature's true gentlemen and I consider myself fortunate to have called him a friend. He may have gone but he'll never be forgotten.Fraz Cunningham. Request removal
