06.06.2009 : Hannah Moffett wrote As Nigel's youngest sister Hannah Moffett, i feel deeply saddened by this loss which has truely devestated my entire family. Nigel was fieriously strong, fit and committed to all his positions that he worked throuout his army career. He was absolutely dedicated to his army career and the bonds of brotherhood he developed during his time spent in the army. The comradship between himself and other soldeirs i have only just been made aware, as the dozens who knew him pay their respects. You are my brother, the soldier, the comrade, and i will remember you always, as always you will be my brother. With not just sorrow, but great joy am i able to comprehend your death as you were where you wanted to be, you were fighting alongside your brothers, and doing what you loved, and for that i am truely greatful... my brother, whom i will always love, you were so brave, so loyal and so loved... and i will always love you in return

xx, wee hannah

07.06.2009 : Karen Glaze wrote Whatever else we fail to do,
We never fail to think of you.

09.06.2009 : Donna Watt wrote I was so saddened to hear about Nigel. He was a wonderful guy. I was working in Dar and had daily contact with him and Brett. He talked often of his family and they were his No1 priority.

I often thought of him and Brett and wondered where Army life had taken them, never imagining for a moment I would hear this.

My thoughts are with his family.

13.06.2009 : Richard Norton wrote I had the pleasure and privilege of serving with Moff in Iraq in 2005. He was a good mate to me and i always knew that if i needed an unbiased ear his was always there, even at the end of a hard days work you could always count on his sense of humour and true professionalism to get everyone's spirits lifted and their mind back on the good things. Even when you felt down or a bit homesick and every one did at sometime, he was able to come of with a bit of craic that would lift you back out of it. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

16.06.2009 : Matt Henman wrote As manager of Dereham Town Football Club I had the privilege of meeting Nigel as he came to run some fitness and team building drills to our players last June. Although he was only in our company for 2 hours very early one sunday morning, providing his own style of motivation, he made a big impression on us all. As we meet again for pre-season training next weekend, exactly a year on, we will remember him and take inspiration from the character he was and the courage he showed. RIP Nigel I am proud to have met you.

21.06.2009 : Dave Allan wrote I left the regiment in 2005, but I took some brilliant memories with me, RIP moff you crazy, fit, irishman - miss you mate - Davey Allan

17.07.2009 : Bill Nash wrote May we offer special condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Lance Corporal Nigel Moffett.

We feel close to your loss as we lost our son killed in action with 1 Rifles just before Christmas. Our pain is overwhelming, but these were special men dedicated to their profession, cognizant of the risks and eager to do their duty. We must be proud of them.

For those of us intimately affected by the cost of these operations the price is beyond reckoning, recent Herrick tours have been particularly harrowing for our forces. We must not be frightened or daunted by the grief these losses cause, but emboldened to ensure that the sacrifices made are the foundations of a better world.

Nigel’s experience and Stuart's potential are such a great loss.

We grieve with you.

14.09.2009 : Pete H wrote Thoughts & prayers we share with you soldier, your families, your friends left behind. We know you have not gone forever, just gone before us. We will meet again.
GOD BLESS YOU - THANK YOU - REST IN PEACE .

For Our Deceased Service Men and Women
You are all-powerful, God, and live forever in light and joy. Look with pity and love, we beg You, on those men and women who bravely fought and gallantly died for their country. By laying down their lives, they showed supreme love for others. Accept, we ask You, their sacrifice and their belief in the justice of the cause they died for. Let their offering not be in vain. Please forgive any sins and faults they may have committed. Speedily, we implore You, bring them into Your Presence where fear, sadness, mourning, and death cannot exist. Have pity in Your loving kindness on those they leave behind. In Your own unsearchable ways, make good for their absence, and lavishly bestow Your love and consolations on those deprived of their presence. This we ask in the Name of Christ, our Victor King. Amen.

Our thoughts are with you and all parents and families of the fallen.

10.11.2009 : Lasting Tribute wrote Join The Line, by Nigel Moffett Snr

There is in the eternal realms a great line of men

Who march along, a long winding road

Their task is to collect, the dead of ages

Taken from the ranks of the fallen.

After midnight on the 30th of May 2009

The great line halts, and a Sgt Major's voice rings out..

Not as on the parade ground, but in the solemn silence increased

The short command is given, "Get fell in, to the rear of the column"

Two soldiers take their place, adjust their equipment, and calm their troubled expressions.

These fallen two, shoulder arms

And the great line of men

The dead of ages, taken from the ranks of the fallen

Moves off at a slow march

Winding its way along the long winding road

Almost out of sight, the line visibly halts, and a Sgt Majors voice rings out

"Get fell in to the rear of the column"

And we who mortals be

Strain to hear the sound of their marching feet.
