01.12.2008 : Dorinda Boag wrote My memories are everlasting, I grew up within sight and sound of the Mersey and John was always my favourite Beatle. The whole of my teens were spent with posters of him on my wall, his name scratched on my satchel and his voice reverberating in my mind.

Of My Life, "In My Life'.

His voice is so distinctive that to hear him now brings back the sixties in an instant and his cheeky smile evokes many happy memories of growing up on Merseyside and discovering 'boys' and 'fun' and 'art and literature' and MUSIC!

Imagine!

01.12.2008 : David Mathers wrote John Lennon is legend. His music with beatles and after has
lived on and will continue to. He give the world a new meaning to music. Imagine is my all time favourate song and the reason it is because everyword is true. I wasnt around when he died, but to me he means everthing to me in music and The Beatles of course.

08.12.2008 : Billy Outram wrote My memory of John is more than a Musical one, it is of the icon with a natural personality of individuality
" Too many Jealous Guys Imagine Instant Karma
John did not go Cold Turkey and play Mind Games
With Power to the people, believed to Give Peace a chance
If there is justice, then this Working Class Hero will find Love"
RIP John - May your spirit and conviction of conscience inspire the youth of today to action, and embrace the philosophy that not all revolution is fought with arms of destruction.
Arms should be open, we ahould be tolerant of the views of others, though defend the principles of honour and together. we shall overcome.
After all, - "All you need is Love"

08.12.2008 : Joel Leyden wrote I heard the shot that murdered John. Was across the street from the Dakota in a friends apartment. We heard two gunshots. I knew they were gunshots, not firecrackers. Five minutes later we heard sirens. Dozens of police and ambulances rushing to the scene. We turned on the radio and they confirmed that John had been shot and was rushed to hospital. People were crying on the streets of New York. One of the saddest days of my life. The day the music died. I remember how the world then came down on New York. But this tragedy could have happened anywhere. Was pleased to see Paul in Tel Aviv singing many of John's songs. Through his music, John will continue to inspire people from every nation, for generations to come.

09.12.2008 : dawn sadler wrote I was 15yrs old at the time of John's death. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was devestated. John Lennon had a big impact on my life, and i will always love him. I often wonder what John would of thought of the world today, the state it is in, and i know he would of done something about it. My life might of been so diffrent without the impact John and his music made on me. I love you always and forever John. xxxx

09.12.2008 : tracy sadler wrote Oh my goodness.. 28 years. i remember like it was yesterday, got up as normal for school, i was 15 and my exams were starting that day... the radio playing as normal, DJ mark page playing a beatle song.. and the words he said i will never forget.. .. 'that was the beatles and the late John Lennon who was shot dead early this morning in New York', my god, myself and my sister broke down, sister collapsed on the bedroom floor, and screemed, i ran down stairs in bits telling mam.. she was as shocked as we were.. how we got the strength to get dressed and go to school i will never know, i dont remember much of that day in school, it was all a daze, remember coming home and watching all the news and the beatle films that were on that nite, one after another.. still gives me a chill when i think of that day. God Bless John Winston Lennon, for making my teenage years bareable.

A chance we want to give to peace
We know all we need is love
We imagine a world without war
For those who hate, that’s tough

We’ve seen your empty garden
We wish you were here today
Sending acorns to world leaders
Trying to give peace away

"You are here!" you told us
Live today as now
Don’t be confused by what is past
Don’t live with your head in the clouds

It’s easy to over exaggerate
It’s easy to indulge memory
But we know you were a normal bloke
Trying to be the best you could be

You had your own excesses
The problems that face us all
But you used your voice to challenge us
To build bridges instead of walls

There are many who still love you John
We carry your dreams in our hearts
And as an act of remembrance of you
For peace we will play our part

19.12.2008 : Lee Sculthorpe wrote Hi there.Well what can I say about John Lennon,he is the reason I am now a musician.I started to listen to the Beatles at age 4 and have never stopped. When I heard "A day in the life" at age 5 i was totally mesmarized by that song and Johns haunting vocal,I still get the same feeling now when I hear it.Athough i'm British born n bred I was living in Texas in 1980 and remember exactly where I was stood when my mom answered the phone to the news that john had been shot dead.I had only just turned 6yrs old but I felt a sadness that I cant explain,I knew it was the guy from the Beatles but it felt more than that even at that age.As the years rolled by and I got older and understood more what had happened,I grew to really respect and treasure his music and it guided me to become the dedicated musican that I am today. He's a true inspiration to me and will continue to be til the day I die.John I thank you for everything you have done for me.Love is real, real is love x

24.12.2008 : AJ Le Her wrote John went to the same school as me, although i went a few years later on, there was still a desk with his graffitti on it. I grew up on Penny lane and all the songs hold memories for me though i was just a baby when they made them..I remember i cried when i heard he'd been killed and Liverpool as a city, went into mourning. Our family have lots of ties to the beatles, my auntie went out with Pete Best, the drummer who turned the beatles down. was told to by my dad, who has played the cavern more times than the beatles ever did and is on the wall of fame in Mattew Street. Me I sing Eva cassidy's version of Imagine at most gigs i play. As a songwriter John's stuff is beautiful and the sound of his voice always reminds me of home. He will live long in the hearts of Scousers, as our most famous son.

01.01.2009 : mark laing wrote The Devil in disguise took the angel of love and peace from us on that dark night lets give thanks for the music and love he give to us so that our world can work towards peace and that our children live in safety in our fragile world. 03.01.2009 : Linda Attwater-Sheen wrote Lovely John! He was an exceptional character who wrote great music and sang wonderful songs! He really cared about the world and people in it! Love and Peace! Linda x

31.01.2009 : Jane Lindley wrote John you will always be a part of my life through your music and your quests for world peace.
You were far from perfect as you always pointed out but those flaws made you human and endeared you to people.
Rest easy now and be safe in the knowledge you will never be forgotten.
