Rob Knox

Sidcup | Died in 2008

Teenage actor Rob Knox died after being stabbed outside a bar in Sidcup, Kent on 24 May, 2008.

Rob, 19, a former pupil of Beths Grammar School, had recently completed filming the part of Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, which was released in July 2009.

After the tragedy Warner Bros released a statement which said: "We are all shocked and saddened by this news and at this time our sympathies are with his family."

Robert, who lived in Sidcup, had been acting since he was 11. He completed filming on the Harry Potter movie the Tuesday before he died and had signed to appear in the next film.

He had also appeared in the popular ITV drama series The Bill, the 2004 film King Arthur, and alongside actor Nicholas Lyndhurst last year in the BBC sitcom After You've Gone.

His friends said he was someone who would never start an argument. He would have been the one to stick up for someone. He had so much going for him.

The teenager was stabbed outside the Metro bar in Station Road soon after midnight on Saturday, 24 May, 2008. He had been enjoying a night out with friends and his brother Jamie, 17.

Rob's father Colin, said: "I would like to thank everyone that has taken time to pay their respects to Robbie. I & Robbie's Mum and Jamie would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Karl Bishop, 22, of Sidcup, was jailed for life in March 2009 after being found guilty of stabbing the young actor. He was stabbed five times as he defended his brother Jamie from Bishop.

Your Memories

Robbie my son, we are missing you so very much. I'm very proud to call you my son & friend. We had so much more to do together, but now that will not happen. Both you & Jamie mean the whole world to me. I love you both so much. I went to church last night and prayed for you. I thanked God for letting me have you for the past 18 years and asked him to take care of you.

My son, we're all missing you so much. It's hard trying to face life without you. I keep hoping this is just a horrid dream, and that I would wake up and things would fine again. But I know this will not happen.

I would like to thank everyone that has taken time to pay their respects to ‘Robbie’.
I & Robbie’s Mum and Jamie would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sleep tight my baby.
R.I.P. son
LOVE YOU MILLIONS xXx
