Member of UK metal band After Death

Remembering Timothy Kennelly, aged 18, who died on 21 January, 2010.

Bassist Mr Kennelly and bandmate Leon Villalba , aged 21 - both musicians from metal band After Death - died while swimming off Atalaia, Brazil.

The five members of London-based band were on tour in Brazil playing local venues for just over a week, and were the support act for the band Master.

Drummer, Barry Mr O'Connor, who went to school with Leon and had known him for 12 years, said he had been the "driving force" behind the band.

"He was the nicest guy, so organised and he really pushed the band to get to this sort of position," he said.

He said Mr Kennelly, from Ealing in west London, joined the band six months ago but it felt like he had known him for years.

"Tim straight away made a massive impression... he was full of information, loved a laugh and was on cloud nine. He was so much more mature than 18, a great guy all round."

Your Memories

Such a shame, these lads were on their way to the top, just starting out living the dream. Rest in peace and make some music up there! Patrick M — 25.01.2010
Tim was a truly amazing person.

He was a talented musician with a real passion for what he did and his trip to Brazil was one that he was anticpating for so long and we has thrilled to have such an oppountunity. He was a devoted student and was again, thrilled to be going to York this September and its devastating that such an oppotunity cant be spend on someone who would have embraced it fully.

He was fun-loving, outgoing and outrageous. He did crazy things that made us laugh and make him selfs known as a legend. Only Tim would dye his hair bleach blonde, acid green and dress up as a stripper cop at parties whilst still maintaining his pride and zest for life. He gave us so many memories and I'm going to miss him so much for a long time.

Its true, the good die young. Tim was a unqiue individual who never stopped smiling, and neither did we when we were around him. Here is to you Tim, Alex depicted it pretty well; lets hope they have good music and a well stocked pub up there. I miss you.

Tim was one of those unforgettable people. You met him, and you'd never forget him.
He had all the qualities that created the best person, funny, smart, loyal, trustworthy, extremely talented, and interesting.
He was such a talented musician, and he and his band deserved all the success they were getting.

Tim gave everyone very fond memories. The fondest memory I have, was on the day I met him, at a party at Jonny's. Me and him were sitting in the bathroom, when a certain person came in (who was very much into him), and said quite loudly 'Everyone WANTS to get with ME!', and he looked at her, and responded quite clearly with 'No. They really don't.' I think she was quite shocked at that, though it really did help shrink her ego!

Tim was a star, whose light shined brighter than most, he was the person that would put a smile on your face. His personality unmatched, his life lived doing what he loved.
We might not have been the closest friends, but you sure did leave your mark, and it was an honour to know you Tim, it really was.
I'll miss you.
