IVERSEN ELLEN MAY (nee CASTER) 1920 - 2001 Beloved memories of my darling Mum who left me six years ago today, aged 80 years. You are sadly missed. ----- You cradled me when you gave me life, I cradled you as yours slipped away, You stroked my brow, I kissed yours softly, You held my hand to comfort me, I held yours to do the same, We shared a bond, the two of us, That went deeper than words, A look, a touch, a gentle smile, Were all that was required. You let me know that your time had come, I didn't want to... But I let you go. No birthday cards or gifts are sent, As to me you were only lent, I still shed my silent tears, Always wishing you was here. They told me time would ease the pain, But time goes by I feel just the same. A look a glance, a fleeting smell, As you pass through me I know you are well, I hold your spirit close to mine, Until then I'll just bide my time. ----- Proud to have you for my Mum and very proud to be your Daughter.
