It has broke our hearts to lose him
But he hasn’t gone alone
A part of us went with him
The day god took him home

Heaven has received another angel
The night sky another star
Grandads life has become a loving memory
I know he will never be far

I know he is watching over us
As our lives go on
I will treasure the memories I have of him
I still can’t believe he is gone

He was a very loving and cheery man
He was there for us a lot
He will always hold a special place in our hearts
A loving treasured spot

He was one in a million
A cut above the rest
All that knew him would agree
Our Grandad John was simply the best

His garden was his pride and joy
A reflection of his life
Each flower lives on in memory
Which he has now left for his wife

Even though we have to say goodbye
You will always be in our hearts
As long as we have our loving memories
We will never be too far apart.

Well a year has gone by but it only feels like yesterday that we lost you. I think about you everyday and in everything I do.

I always imagine what you would be thinking or doing if you were still here today! Like when I'm in the garden on a nice hot day I imagine that you would of been planting your flowers or looking after your veg. I've even tried to start growing my own but it is a hard slog, wish you were here to give me some tips! But I will keep plugging away.

Wish you could be around so much that it hurts. I know that you are looking down over us though. Plus I'm having a little girl! I know you would of been over the moon for me and I will be telling her all about you and what a great man you were.

I try to make the most of each and every day as with losing you has made me realise how precious life actually is. I talk about you often and you will always be in my heart until one day we will meet again.
