18.01.2009 : Carrie Chisholm wrote I'm so sorry to hear about Tony Hart's passing. His work on television is one of my fondest childhood memories and like millions of other kids he made me want to create art, my work was never very good but he encouragement is what mattered.

18.01.2009 : david bailey wrote I remember Tony like a member of my family he was with me through my childhood and that of my children.

You made me interested in art a thing i am still doing 35 years on. The next gerberation of my family is doing so too.

3 and 1/2 years ago i had an accident that has left me housebound and thanks to Tony Hart and the way he made me feel about art i now pass my time drawing alone and with my daughter.

So thank you Tony and may you keep people smiling for eternity with your warm smile and your way of making art fun and easy

David and family

18.01.2009 : Adrian Doore wrote Tony you were an insperation to us all may you rest knowing what difference you made Thankyou.

18.01.2009 : Darran Scott wrote It was sad to hear of the passing of Tony Hart. During the 1970's I used to rush home from school to make sure I watched Take Hart and the adventures of Morph. Watching that programme was a joy and I was very envious the way Tony used to create his masterful artwork very simply. Along with other people now in their forties they would agree he was very special and a great talent who will be sadly missed.

18.01.2009 : clare Reynolds wrote I was very saddened by the loss of such a great artist/T.V children's presenter. Tony's art beat programme got me interested in art, and as a child I always said I would be an Artist when i grew up and funnily enough that is what I am and I want to thank Tony for inspiring me to paint and draw and create art today.

18.01.2009 : Joan Cosnett wrote I had the fortune to escort Tony for the day during his visit to my place of work. He was a gentleman with a wicked sense of humour. I have always admired him and followed his talented work through his television programmes. I will miss him and our contact through Christmas cards. My deepest sympathy to his dear friend Roc and his family.
Love Joan (the Lady in Red) x

18.01.2009 : Jaimie Baillie wrote It really is a sad day that Tony Hart has passed on, I'll always have fond memories of him whilst growing up, he always had such enthusiasm when drawing it was great to see him in action.
The sky will be that little bit brighter now he's up there looking down on us, God rest Tony you leave us all with great memories

18.01.2009 : aidan mcatamney wrote I was so sorry to hear of the death of tony hart. as a child growing up in the early 1970s vision on was one of my favourite tv programmes. tony hart was a fantastic artist a real genius and a lovely person. he inspired me to paint and in 1972 i sent in a painting of a fox which he displayed on the gallery with my name and age accompanied with all the other paintings and the beautiful tune they always played when showing the gallery. i have nothing but happy memories of watching tony hart on television, he made art look so easy and he could turn a simple idea into something wonderful. when take hart came along after vision on it was equally fantastic. thanks for the memories tony. rest in peace. aidan mcatamney. kilrea n.ireland

18.01.2009 : lawrence mclaughlin wrote Today is a very sad day, the loss of someone who has always been there throughout my childhood and also my childrens child hood can never be replaced. Vision on and all the other programs that Tony has done has made art accessable to the masses and shown that everyone can do some sort of artistic activity.

He has always been there with Morph and now another era has finished never to be repeated.

God bless you Tony you have changed the lives of many many people over the years.

18.01.2009 : albert smyth wrote Tony Hart was a wonderful childrens presenter he touched the hearts of millions of children i still hold him dear to my heart a true gentle man who will be sadly missed he is with the angels now teaching them to draw and paint rest in peace tony always in my heart.

18.01.2009 : colin scott wrote I am absolutely gutted to hear about Tony. I am 34 years old so i grew up watching his Take Hart and Hart Beat programs of the 80's. They were my favourite programs as a child and i have great memories of these. I went to art college in the 90's and i think that this was partly due to Tony and his programs. He was a very kind and gentle man and will be sadly missed. Colin.

But most of all you gave us love, the greatest gift of all.

19.01.2009 : Matt Seymour wrote I was so sad to hear that Tony had passed away. I never missed an episode of Take Hart when I was a lad and made numerous unsuccessful attempts to get one of my pictures on to the hallowed 'Gallery'.

Tony always struck me as a really nice guy who genuinely enjoyed what he did and he had incredible talent.

Thank you for some wonderful childhood memories Tony and may you rest in peace.

My condolences to his family .. RIP my friend. I shall not forget you or your Friendship to me, and genuine personna!! XXXX
