Heart attack on holiday claims life of fundraiser
Well-known Cleethorpes businessman and fundraiser Frank Grafton died on February 3, 2008, while on holiday.
The 70-year-old was with his wife Mavis (67) in Spain when he suffered a heart attack.
Mrs Grafton said: "He was so well-known by people all around the town. .
"He has had so many different jobs and recently has had a courier business called Celerity Trucking Cold Ltd, with a lot of customers across the area. .
"It has taken us such a long time to get in touch with them all and tell them. People are just devastated." .
An ex-fisherman, Mr Grafton has donated thousands to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in the area. The family hope they will be able to scatter his ashes from one of the lifeboats. .
Mrs Grafton said: "Over the years, he has worked as a miner, a lorry driver, had his own fish round, a video shop, and recently worked as a courier. .
"He could turn his hand to anything and really lived his life to the full. "He had both of his legs amputated four years ago because of diabetes, but he didn't let it slow him down. .
"We loved going on cruises and holidays. In the last few years, we have been on four holidays each year. .
"He will be very sadly missed by all his family and many friends." .
Mr Grafton leaves five children, 11 grandchildren - two of whom are expecting - and two great-grandchildren. .
