Promising international golfer who was Wales' youngest ever captain
Promising international golfer Ben Enoch was killed aged 19 in a road accident on 30 April, 2009.
Ben, from Truro in Cornwall, was travelling to a tournament in England when his Peugeot 306 smashed into a trailer being used as a storage unit in Herefordshire.
He was the younger son of Steve Enoch, head of podiatry for the Cornwall Partnership Trust, and Tracy Enoch, a schools accountant with Cornwall Council.
His brother, Rhys, also an international golfer, said: "We were more than brothers, we were best friends."
Both boys were born at Treliske, but played for Wales because his father spent his own early years there before his parents moved to Truro.
Ben was Wales' youngest ever captain and in 2008 had been part of the 28-member preliminary Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team, scheduled to compete against the United States in September 2009. He had been due to attend East Tennessee State on a golf scholarship in autumn 2009, alongside his elder brother Rhys.
His father said: "They were good at most sports, but we saw golf as a game which the family could enjoy together.
"We joined Killiow when they were eight and 10. They moved to the Truro Club where the professional, Nigel Bicknell, became a great friend."
Ben completed a sports diploma at Truro College. Golf gripped both boys. "It was a passion with Ben, but not an obsession," his father added. "He was an absolute winner."
