I had the pleasure of meeting Dave a couple of years ago at one of the Solid Silver 60s shows when he and the rest of the band were signing programmes and DVDs and he couldn't have been nicer. They were the best act on the show that night and in fact DDDBM+T were a very under-rated act. I was hoping to see them perform again one day but sadly that won't happen now. R.I.P. Dave, you were a great singer and entertainer and part of my youth.

09.01.2009 : Lindsey Blason wrote So sad to hear the sad news of Dave's death. I was a big fan in the 60s and saw the group on numerous occasions. I was thrilled to renew my acquaintance with the lads over the past few years and had many chats with Dave. I am so glad I was able to tell him how much I enjoyed his music. He was a great entertainer and a thoroughly nice man. I send my heartfelt sympathies to Dave's family. He put up such a brave fight and at least he is now pain free. Rest in Peace Dave, I will never forget you.

I was so pleased when they made the big time and am very sad to hear of his death. He was a really smashing guy and will be greatly missed.

Dave would have the audience eating out of his hand. Went to any revival show where they featured. Sadly missed.

09.01.2009 : Marcus Osterdahl wrote I have lost another very good friend and when the annual Christmas card did arrive this year, I feared that we may not get together again. Dave was a very supportive friend during my early days within the crazy world of music business in this country and we spent some very wonderful times together in the studio or at various parties. Dave & Joan were the only couple from the business at our wedding in 1984 and they used to come out with his sons; Ashley & Elliot to run on the bikes with my boys in our woodland. My memories from our days at Midem in Cannes are simply hilarious and sometimes dangerous, but we did have a very, very enjoyable time.

Dave lived a very full and enjoyable life and I am most privileged to have been part of that time.

I was a huge fan of theirs right from the start in the early 60's and joined their fan club. I and a couple of friends went to see them in Narberth, Pembrokeshire back in June 1968 and had a fantastic night. Happy days. Thanks for all that you did to cheer a teenager up before sitting her GCE's.

A friend from Surrey was always extremely eager to see them and get their autographs whenever she came to stay with me. My ambition was to get on the back of a motorbike and ride of into the night with Dave Dee from the Madrid/Bullring coffee shop. God Bless you Dave Dee!!
