US TV actor and Jaclyn Smith's ex-husband

American television actor Dennis Cole, who acted in a string of hit series, died aged 69, in Florida on 15 November, 2009.

He was best known for playing a detective in "Felony Squad," followed up by roles in Bracken's World and Bearcats!

TV credits also include Medical Center, Barnaby Jones, Police Story, Love American Style, Love Boat, Streets of San Francisco and Police Woman.

He met and married Charlie's Angels star Jaclyn Smith while filming the show and was her second husband, the marriage lasting until 1981.

80s work included The Young and the Restless, Murder, She Wrote, and Baywatch.

He began his career as a model and stuntman.

I met Dennis when he was 25 & I was 39, in acting class.We did "Picnic"; him as Bill Holden, me as somebody else (figgers). We stayed close friends thru it all. I've seen him more than a hundred times, him, never in a bad mood (hurting, yes, when he lost a son or a love) He always took full responsibility for the bad turns. He worked hard for and with AA. and never quit looking for his son's killer. Two weeks ago, he called with sincere good wishes for my "in-chemo" granddaughter, I told somebody, "That was Dennis, my very kind, very generous, very loyal, excellent friend". Three days a week we worked, we laughed, we cried, we danced for two years. You were so handsome but Bob always kept his boys on a short leash where I was concerned. You, Dack and Clint all gone now but never forgotten. My guys. I will miss you most of all. Thank you for loving my family all these years and to the end.
