12.12.2008 : denise osborn wrote My Aunt Doris was my mums only sister and 14 years her junior. Doris was always generous and ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
She was funny, cheerful, independent spirit, who had a heart of gold(hidden away, she would not have wanted anyone to know how soft she really was inside).
She could be fiery and had a temper and she was very stubborn once she made her mind up, but that's because she lost her mother at an early age and had to grow up fast.
I always remember visiting Doris at Burdett Rd in East London where she first lived with Uncle John, little John and Susan, and she always seemed very contented with her lot, I never heard her complain about anything.
When the family moved to Scotland we did not see each other very much, which was very sad especially for my mum, who I know missed her very much. It was a very sad day when we heard the news Doris had passed to Spirit, she was too young to go, but Spirit had other ideas.
She will always remain in our hearts and thoughts until we meet again.
