09.09.2008 : Ellie Peach wrote Truly the greatest manager England never had.

I would loved to have seen what he could have done with the England team. One thing's for sure - it would have been entertaining.

Hard to believe it's four years this month.

You'll never be forgotten. xxx

10.09.2008 : Davis Parnell wrote One of our true sporting greats.

I think he would have been more grateful for a longer career on the pitch but my oh my, he could never have hoped for such incredible success off it as well.

I was lucky enough to speak with him on several occasions and he was always the kindest, interested and interesting person you could ever hope to meet.

I cannot believe it is four years since he passed away, so unexpectedly after it seems he was on the mend.

I will never forget being in the Old Market Square to welcome home the European Cup-winning heroes.

I will never forget his last game at the City Ground.

Thank you Brian.

23.09.2008 : John Taylor wrote In October 1986 I had a heart bye-pass operation.
My son in law knew someone at the club and told them about me.
A notice was put on the new Notice board then when I was recovering in the ward I got a letter from Brian Clough.
He wished me well and included photograph signed;

Be Good

Brian Clough

He brought so much into our lives.

10.10.2008 : Steven Foulds wrote I met Cloughie in the flesh one time, summer 1970 on Darley Park in Derby. The mark of the man, for me (at a time when he was managing the Rams and they had arguably their best ever team) was that he was happy to wait whilst a snotty 8 year old ran all the way home for his autograph book, which he then relieved me of, took my address, had ALL the team sign (including reserves and trainers) and sent it back with 2 stand tickets for the next home fixture with Leicester City. Though I wasn't really a Derby fan, that put the man and by implication the team right on my radar, and he never left it. Nor did Derby. I still follow them from my armchair! A true one-off, and the game is poorer for his passing.

30.10.2008 : Stephen Shaw wrote My hero, I never met the great man, it was one of my ambitions that went unfulfilled sadly. But my memories of what he did for not only Forest but for football in general was truly immense. You were a genius, a character, and a great advert for family values, an inspiration to many people. I miss you greatly and the world misses you. God bless you and rest in peace Brian, the maestro.
