17.11.2009 : Gil Prescott wrote I grew up watching Ray Charnley at Blackpool, he was a grafter who scored more than his share of goals. Watched him play in a win at Maine Road against City where he had a great game.
Thought are for his friends and family, I will remember him with much affection.

30.11.2009 : Mike Turner wrote As a regular Koppite during the 60's at Bloomfield Road, I came to love Ray's style and comittment to the game and 'Pool. Always on the prowl in the penalty area he was magnificent in the air, I always remember how proud it felt when he at last got some recognition and was picked for England, along with Jim Armfield and Tony Waiters. Thanks Ray for some super goals and a true sportsman the like of which is hard to find these days. A brilliant servant to Blackpool and football.
