Young mother killed in road crash with five of her friends
Teela Chamberlain died aged 19 on 10 July, 2008, in a road crash that also claimed the lives of five of her friends: Carly Arrindel , Richard Bolton , Emily Curnock, Luke Sean Whittle , and Christopher Worrad.
Miss Chamberlain was travelling in a Ford Mondeo when it was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry in the early hours of the morning on the A607 between Kirby Bellars and Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
Relatives visited the scene of the crash and left messages with flowers for Miss Chamberlain, from Leicester's Saffron Lane Estate, who had a five-month-old son, Tai.
One message read: "My darling Teela, I love you with all my heart and always will. With Dad now. Love always, Mam."
The 48-year-old lorry driver, from Melton, was treated in hospital for chest pains.
The Rev Phillip Macdonald, superintendent minister for Melton Methodist Circuit, said: "My heart goes out to the families involved in this dreadful tragedy."
A Leicestershire County Council spokesman said: "We would like to express our sympathies to all those who have been affected by this tragic loss of life.
"We will await the results of the police investigation before deciding whether or not any action is appropriate.
"We have introduced a series of speed reduction and safety measures all along the A607, which has reduced the accident rate.
"The accident record for the bend in question shows no other personal injury accidents reported there in the past five years."
