BYROM Eva.
Nan.
I remember when I was small,
Throwing things in the brook,
From your garden wall.
Playing Monopoly for hours and hours,
And your home-made dresses covered in flowers.
Sewing, knitting and icing Christmas cakes,
Telling stories and reading,
Whilst everyone wakes.
Home-made chips cooked in lard,
Playing outside in your backyard.
Sterilised milk with ice-cream served in a glass,
You getting names wrong made everyone laugh.
I would be Ethel, Ellen, Joan or Ann,
But that was O.K. because that was just Nan!
Happy memories I'll always treasure,
And many happy times I cannot measure.
Rest in peace Nan.
