Officer who died in the line of duty.

Constable Blakeman was on patrol in Birmingham on 27 June 1966, when he was engaged in removing a van which was causing an obstruction on his beat, he was pushing the vehicle when he collapsed and died of heart failure.

Kerim had 15 years police service and was stationed at Bridge Street West.

Only 35 when he died he was survived by his wife, who was expecting their third son born 7 months later, and their two older boys aged 13 and 9 years.

Two of his sons later served with the West Midlands Police.
