24.05.2007 : Nik Hewitt wrote Syd was a crazy diamond, an icon of English eccentricity from the dawn of Floyd, and a poster boy for a generations awareness of issues surrounding mental health. His free thinking lyrics and style will be missed for a long time to come. He helped build the backbone a generation, and make me realise there was more to music.

27.05.2007 : Alistair Poat wrote This man was a genius, he was the pioneer of the Pink Floyd style of music and should never have been lost to the world... also he was obviously a brave man to come out of recluse to turn up at a recording studio must have been so hard

01.05.2008 : D Donner wrote As long as Syd's music is still heard, he will continue to be a shining diamond. I was always a Floyd fan but never really knew too much about Syd or the enormous influence he had. I have since become quite a fan, albeit a bit late.

I pray that Syd is happy and finally at peace. I'm sure this "madcap" is jamming away in heaven.

02.10.2008 : james kavanagh wrote I wasnt born back then so i guess not memories but sinse i can remember i have listened to pink floyd coz of my parents and i love them i only recently like read about syd barrett and learned about him a few years ago and sinse then i think of pink floyd differently like how influential he was to them and how amazing an artist he was.
i have listened to his solo albums mad cap laughs and a few songs from barrett and they are still great in my opinion i dont care what other people think i do prefer him with pink floyd though its a shame what the lsd did to him.
i will miss you syd.

24.11.2008 : Jo Green wrote Tripping to get away from a constant trip (if what we read is true... I WASN'T there )
Crazy genius of the finest degree... taunted and abused for his faith.
There can never be another Roger Keith 'Syd' Barrett, rest in peace where the pain has ceased.
You will live forever though, genius of your calibre can never be forgotten.
