Marie Curie Field of Hope
Internationally the daffodil is recognised as a symbol of hope and renewal. It also forms part of the logo of one
of the UK's leading cancer charities, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The charity is best known for its network of Marie Curie nurses working in every community in the UK to provide
end–of–life care for terminally ill patients. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing,
totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by
their families.
Marie Curie Cancer Care celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and to help celebrate this landmark Lasting Tribute
is offering you the chance to place a virtual daffodil in our Field of Hope in memory of someone who has died.
In addition, for every virtual daffodil placed in the Lasting Tribute Field of Hope, Marie Curie Cancer Care will
plant a free daffodil bulb in memory of that person. Planting takes place in September and October. Unfortunately the
charity is unable to specify exactly where your free bulb will be located, however you can call 0800 716146 to find
your nearest Field of Hope.
Each virtual daffodil costs £5. Lasting Tribute will make a £2.50 donation
(inc VAT) to Marie Curie Cancer Care for every virtual daffodil sold. The virtual daffodil will remain on
the site for 12 months, but, your real daffodil should continue to grow and flower year after year.
